Dragon Boat Canada is committed to encouraging inclusion, equity and access in its administration, policies, programs and activities.
Dragon boat Canada is an inclusive community and has opportunities to participate anywhere from the recreation level to representing Canada in international competitions.
Para Dragon racing is included in the Canadian Dragon Boat Championships.
Recently, the Canadian National Para Dragon Team raced at the 2023 World Dragon Boat Racing Championships in Pattaya, Thailand. Representing Canada well by achieving 3 golds, 4 silvers, and 2 bronzes in the 9 events entered.

From Bach to Boats: Blind Guitarist Sets the Pace in Dragon Boating
If you’ve ever seen a dragon boat race, you know how intense it is- coaches bellowing out directives, paddlers fiercely battling the waves. A sport for the visually-impaired?
Ioana Gandrabur thinks so. An internationally acclaimed classical guitarist from Romania, Gandrabur has paddled with Caravela - Montreal’s first dragon boat team for people who are blind or partially sighted - since 2017.
